Utilize everything you have, do not let things stagnate
The essence of Diwali!!

I love being well organized. And mostly my house is clean, thanks to my housekeeper who does the cleaning part for me.
I let the candles burn; meaning, I keep no extra stuff. Partly because I live in the quarters provided to me by the medical college, where I teach. But I had the opportunity to stay with my parents for quite sometime a few years back, and we were always clean, resourceful and organized. We do not hoard. There is mindful utilization always. Even for the foodstuff. One shouldn’t let the energy of our belongings become blocked. Every single material of your dwelling should be used often, clean. We need a flowing turnover, not stagnation by accumulating without utility. Some things are regularly used. Worship them often through affirmations.
I do not like becoming a lot superstitious with the lust for money which is dangerous, if this is why some folks celebrate Diwali. We should not be obsessed with the concept that money flows to our homes if we really pray on Diwali. I took it easy ever since the days when we were not so money-full. I love decorating my home, ritualistically with marigold garlands, diyas that as per the rituals must be burned by the daughters of the house. Rangoli and beautification of the house is amazingly satisfying. I feel like enjoying…
