Always be rational, not ruthless

Many people are scared of the stoics and prefer hedonism. My mother- a hedonist, for example, loves gossip, fun, teasing, friendships and a life full of colors. She is not stoic. Her wisdom suggests a vibrant life that makes her experience all kinds of emotions in one life. She converts her grief to fun and keeps thinking superficially.

The onlookers call it a simple life, as all it is to go with the flow and have no time to think about choices one makes or not reflecting upon the harm or good or outcome of our impulsive actions and decisions.

On the contrary, I find stoicism as a fun thing to explore. Because I can think for long hours about the best way to act even if it is not funny or vibrant, it usually is the correct way. This helps me to develop quality thoughts that need deep speculations to decide my actions that are not impulsive pursuits. I usually think before I leap, creating a balance to not work in haste and neither overthink my decisions. My mother when out of form can overthink for long hours also. I do not have to compare with my mother. I am just thinking about her today, so she comes in my mind to appreciate stoicism better keeping her ideals as against stoicism.

I do not write for the sake of it. I usually have my chunks of thoughts that need a vent. Deliberate…
