We have a marvelous brain!!

A monotonous life can be continued but people often feel stuck with their routine, work, no growth and everything looks like its falling apart, including relationships. This happens when you think you made the right choices at a young age and now despite those choices, there is less opportunity or you are underutilized. Also, what seemed lucrative no longer serves you. You want to break free and simply want to do something different. You try to leave your job and start careers which will become our only choice after a few years again bringing you to square one. The decision that you made then becomes a regret later. So this work is the function of our marvelous brain that thinks and does nothing else but put you down everytime you rise up. The brain does this for you to explore your decisions, double check like a hunter-gatherer. Therefore, even if you seem to have everything figured out, something changes, you change so be very happy that it was a responsible decision to leave your boyfriend or the job or the city or drugs, sports, anything that you decided then. Circumstances turn bad like a cyclical event in everybody’s life, do not worry, its time to figure out again, but you can do much better if it does not involve grudges and regrets, we need stability in life more than flexibility. So here are some ways that can make you stop feeling stuck so that the trigger of impulsive changes can be curbed and improve your life.

  1. Read news about political strife- When you understand the depth of politics, the tendency is to find solutions. You can do nothing about it, but you can solve problems, it brings stability in life. You have something to look up to. The solution is not necessary at times but with mind boggling political problems to solve, you learn to become more objective than subjective. Suddenly feelings about getting a divorce, binging alcohol, leaving your job will be tackled by solving bigger problems. After a fight with your spouse, ask her what do you think is the agenda behind Israel? It will lighten your mood.
  2. Remember not to get bored. Here I take the opportunity to teach my readers that I never get bored because I think. So all thinkers usually never get bored. Practice yin yoga to help you with that. Whichever part of the day it is, take a break from monotony and start introspecting, write 3 goals you want to accomplish in the next few hours like- I need to fill up my water bottle in another 10 minutes. I need to read 10 pages before taking a lecture and there is a need to revise the language I am learning but not before I call my mother. Broadly speaking these are routine tasks, not worth it, not impressive but by thinking about them, you made your life interesting, these become your wants and desires. You find such things pleasant not boring.
  3. With practice you will get a little knack of it. What might seem impossible, obsolete, not lucrative becomes interesting, you add novelty and according to your judgement of the situation, you continue exploring what else for the same kind of work, rest and leisure. For example, you tried to learn law for two years, but by the third year it became very tough. Your tendency then is to search for other ways to dissipate difficulty like exploring some other career. This is not what I would do. You will also not like it because if you do not face it, you might fail in the third year but there need to be 3 more attempts. You explore other job with risk and adventure so why not take risk to continue the third year? You mustn't leave and end up somewhere you do not like it too much but you still adjust as there exists no other option. You might be lucky if you possess an intelligent mind, you made it great after dropping law school, you took a risk and succeeded. That is indeed daring, but it is not a common rule. Not everyone has such a fantabulous brain but yes, it can be inculcated. The sour truth is, do not leave until you make 3 attempts. These attempts tell you yourself. They make you accomplish other careers or they help you know that you are not stuck, change a bit and learn the industry, be a change maker for the novices in the next 10 years, after achieving what you set out to in the previous 2 years. Laws are amended-remember that.
  4. Solve some arithmetic or read a few mathematical theorems daily- We all have a habit to confess that we are not good in mathematics, let me use a calculator. But the sad thing is its almost 15–20 years ago when you actually added or subtracted figures mentally. Use your brain. Without this, dementia creeps in sooner than with age. Only reading doesn’t help. So solve mathematics. Take just 15 minutes daily to start with. I am sure you will feel intrigued. Who said that you were stuck? Lots needs to be done, who cares about happiness? Who cares about personal growth? I need to do basic division mentally, I need to first make myself brilliant before seeking some side hustle as a more lucrative option for my mind and body. I am stuck because I do not feed my brain. I am stuck because I do not get along and so on. Who cares!! It is more important to divide 225 by 15 in 2 seconds or multiply 25 four times. Try this and see the difference in your life. You will develop the patience to endure your current circumstances.

Affirmation: For this beautiful day, I shall plan every hour and live the most this one day. It is a necessary day which brings me to action. I have so much to do to be of use. Even if I cook the same dish everyday, I shall still think about it differently with multiple emotions day by day, I will think of it. I am not stuck, I figured out my way, at least for this year and I am happy!!

Inspiration: My uncle was bankrupt and in debt. He has not found a permanent salary but he is an electrical engineer, a pharmacologist, a homeopathic enthusiast and father’s a girl with disability. Life cannot be that bad for anyone, yet it was so with him. So he inculcated knowledge, money just comes to him in small and irregular ways, yet he is content.
