Don’t Worry, Act instead!!

Writing comes easy to me but I worry mostly for not being able to do solid deep work everyday needed for my profession as a doctor, that which is good for my kind of personal growth. It is something that I really intend to do though. Since childhood, I never settled to mediocrity, here I mean according to my potential as there will be many better than me, some like me and few not as good as me. But many of us would agree that when a deadline arises and we are left with no time and multiple incomplete plans not executed to fruition, we fret and not get good scores in exams, or do not finish projects or create work in haste with many errors. Doing things in haste might be needed to compensate for our neglect of time, but discipline brings us the fulfillment of drinking wine daily in small amounts for healthier benefits and not a heart disease.

The problem: I do not procrastinate, but instead, worry much.

My goal this year: I do not want to keep worrying despite the inclination I have, to keep wandering away from what I really want to do, and end up doing nothing as i was worrying for one thing and not enjoying some other less priority but beautiful things, also. Things like writing, classical dance lessons, yoga, healthy talks with family and more. This poor time management has kept me from enhancing the rewards gained by indulging in pleasure seeking activities daily along with a few hours more of important work devoid of worries.

But then I learnt to act.

A few years ago, I counseled someone with Schizophrenia to write the most important things that she wanted to do daily on a piece of paper and tick those tasks that she was able to accomplish on a daily basis instead of melancholy and stupors, spending of daily hours in the hope of a miracle to happen. She was grateful as she could bathe, cook and even join a vocation and earn money. The power of simply writing her desires brought fabulous gratification in her life, and I hope her disease improved since the past few years.

To act, is right. For those with mental ailments, they must keep themselves busy and working. Even something as easy and healthy as physical exercise is an elaborate project for them, but still to create the will to do things, tiny everyday improvements can help them greatly.

For those who want to be mentally healthy throughout life, must be wary of the red alarm “WORRYING”.

Going deep inside ourselves and doing things not out of comparison, may lessen our worries. Sometimes going deep may enhance your speculation and inner critique, but treat it as a mother treats her erroneous child. And sometimes the child shuts up the mother like as if the child knows that the mother is not always right. When the child has this conversation with himself, he can have a better relationship with the mother (the inner critique), both learning and teaching one another. When you are at peace with your thoughts and actions, worries drift away and you can live a mentally healthy and successful life.

Again just having conversations for a very long time alone will take time away from you, the first reason for worries. If there are children to be sent to school, we cannot wake up all night worrying to send them to school the next day, we need a good sleep, and responsibly get up on time to work the children off to school!!

So, remember to control time, do the scoping by checking your potential and available opportunities, list your priorities and act towards a disciplined life and not an impulsive one. Act, as a stitch in time saves nine!! Do not worry about errors, you will learn from them some great lessons. Things go wrong, heal yourself and keep acting and flow like water, that may become turbulent at times but never stops until its journey on the Earth. Embrace every day of your life as a blessed day without worry and more of action. Something great is bound to happen if you act according to your goals, and it will be a positive gratification. Certainly you do not want to become proud but for satisfaction and a noble success, you need to be nice to yourself in your conversations with the inner self, and the inside knows when to correct you.
