10 ways for a splendid life

Happy were those days when we did not think about life, we indulged in it instead. We were living it, every bit of it with intact perception of pseudo-realities and imagining a bright future that was about to begin. I used the word pseudo-reality because our thoughts guide our perception. For example, the guy out there possesses good marketing skills which an innocent girl understands he is interested in her. Your favorite ballet show could be the only reason you saved money for to become happy during summer vacations, you make the show your reality, it materializes because you saved for it. So life is a blend of imagination and realities that our thoughts make us perceive.

Enormous accolades for those people who have everything figured out about their lives and are living their best. But believe me, even many life coaches are yet to decipher how to live best. There is a fear factor always, very few rise above it. And no one is extraordinarily equipped with the skill to overcome fear. We can only adjust with the feeling but cannot remove the fear factor completely.

There are numerous viewpoints guided by different cultures and lifestyle adopted by your workplace and family. Humans can adjust, it is easy for them. Only animals cannot and their species become extinct with their habitat changed or destroyed. Humans can think, this has to be tapped. There is a thin line between self-obsession and being thought conscious. To grow we must be aware of our inside out, self obsessed people worry too much about the outside and their role in it. The thought conscious people know themselves. They know what to discard and what to keep.

I figured out long ago that I want to be a doctor. Now if I falter my goals, my thoughts will not let me live peacefully. But I can slow down after achieving a miniscule in my career as a doctor. Today I took a day off from work because I was not ready with my thoughts going against the daily discipline. I was not feeling well to barge in and acclimatize. This gap of 1 day will change a few thoughts about myself, that are comfortable inside. To create a growth mindset, we need to control what we think and your people help you with that. But sometimes I succumb to solitude to do away with a few vitiated thoughts about possible misfortunes that I went through to stay on the path of my career growth.

When you work upon something, you get it sooner or later. Sanity is achieved only through knowing and winning ourselves. My life is splendid. What more do I want? I have enough to feed and flaunt, there is a platform where I can teach, learn and create. I can indulge in multiple research projects, write books and so on. I went through a lot, it never came easy and this delicate success can be taken away if I do not fight for myself. That ways also there is always an obstacle that has to be overcome on a daily basis. I am not the only one, there are others doing the same. For some it is bread earning, some are passionate and some simply do not think a lot about their purpose, its the work they do for the sake of it. The latter achieve the best because of unmanipulated consistency that eventually makes them succeed. As for me, I decided long ago, so there is no turning back. My life is splendid, even yours can be if you think of incorporating these 10 ways that I am going to describe.

  1. Do not use, be of use- A beautiful world is created by contributions and not pressurizing others to provide for you. With gratefulness you can ease others and in itself make them of use if you are at the receiving end. Your gratefulness makes you of use to others. They feel nice about it. So you become of use to them. For example, if you upgrade your skills, they can be of use wherever you go, you will not sleep empty stomach. I know a hair expert who opted this career to help his father pay loans for his family crisis. He also started teaching his skills to others through online classes, his pupils and clientage increased even during the pandemic lockdown. His was a success story. Now he has opened a salon, he still teaches and works door to door to earn money.
  2. Be a blend of spirituality and materialism-Pray and make promises to God, parents, mentors, and mostly to yourself. Catch your purpose. Spend what you earn to fulfill your dream of living life according to you. Most importantly live in present. Do not over indulge. Count your own ecological footprints so that you do not become a burden on society by depriving future generations of fresh air, good education, clean environment and health.
  3. Take care of your health- My mother wants only one gift from her entire family- Be healthy. That helps us to enjoy and live splendid. If you have a mental disorder, cancer, diabetes, it means health was not your option at some remote time. You did not care for yourself and lived listlessly. Health is an addiction, hope most of the people get addicted to it. It is never enough. Poor people can also be healthy with low cost measures and the government’s social responsibility.
  4. Love your family and friends-Love is the virtue that drives me. I cannot lead my life without loving my books, cleanliness, friends, family, work, people around. I explain because people matter. If you go by this phrase “love is to be given not taken” you feel happy in all circumstances. This is mostly for my brother’s little princess, she is adorable.
  5. Control your thoughts- If you do not control, your mental level gets exhausted. Whenever you have a query in your mind, do something, don’t brood about it. Keep a psychotherapist who will bring you out. Seek help when necessary. Mental health is important, act, do not give spare time to thoughts. Those who are thought conscious can control their mind. They know when things are unmanageable, they immediately go for recreation, break away from the life’s monotony and comeback successful to manage a new set of challenges that life offers to them.
  6. Create and keep some plants- I love doing needle-work, write during spare time, I am growing vegetables and a sturdy flowering plant. I read a lot, cannot get enough of it. So can my readers, do something creative everyday, for about half an hour, like yin yoga, which also works for me. Practice sports during weekends instead of a discotheque. But the choice is yours. Read a lot if you cannot do both.
  7. Eat moderately- Don’t starve, eat small morsels frequently to manage your hormones, lipids, obesity, diabetes and more. Good food works wonders in life, it prevents frustrations, incompetence and it adds variety to your life. Be abundant in your choice for healthy food.
  8. Laugh heartily- This is so beautiful. You can laugh at yourself, or watch a comedy on television. You can also have a few comical friends with whom you can laugh all day. I have had such friends. Remembering them makes me laugh even now. At least smile at your innocence if you cannot laugh.
  9. Prove yourself to yourself, there is no need to compete- You know your work and caliber. I keep telling my students to work out your study plan and daily regime. That is because they should know what works for them when it comes to academic learning. Some are morning larks, others night owls and some are flexible. Some read points, others are detailed. So if you have taken the responsibility to become someone, explore what works for you. Intentional living makes it easy for a bright future when you will be happy that you worked hard.
  10. If life throws a challenge, happily accept it- Though this should be the first point, I deliberately placed it on the 10th position. Because it is scary to accept challenges if you do not prepare yourself with the aforementioned 9 points. Some people have it in themselves, so they can directly accept the challenge. The smart ones can, unless there are deliberate mutilations of your thoughts and fantasy. Work hard, never dismay yourself if initially there are no accomplishments. Be malleable and ductile about the means not ends. Otherwise the challenge becomes a misery if you keep changing your ends. Put simply, do not become a coward. You can escape once or twice but not always despite being bare about your rendered short comings.

These points help you become more mindful and you can truly live your life according to your terms and conditions. There will be permutations and combinations, be ready for challenges so do not escape, indulge.
